Considering the location....its not bad at all!😉
Yes, good food. Ribs are yummy, ask for lean brisket or the pulled pork nachos. Cost is medium priced.
Not since the hurricane, sorry. Good luck with your car!
Yes, the restaurant took on 2 feet of flood water from Harvey. MacDaddy's was closed until February 2nd, 2018. Demolition was done and the restaurant was remodeled. Most of the place was restored to its original look.
Had the fish n chips and pork chili. Very impressive selection of draft beer on tap. I had the Art Car IPA but they wouldn't do a pint. Fish was fresh and not frozen. Love that they had limes available for the fish. Chili could have been warmed up a bit hotter bit flavor was good. If you are in the area you should definately give the Mac Daddy a try
If your looking for a BBQ place, it's worth a try. Service was slower then I expected however we had the bartender who was managing the bar, tables and phone we our heart went out to him. Brisket was dry, however, okay with their sauce. The boys enjoyed their pork ribs and corn bread as delicious. Added plus is free ice cream cones for the kids, so a nice treat for them..
Nice hang out, staff friendly. Good place to social drink. Fried chicken too crispy crunchy. Decent portions on shrimp platter. Not a fan of fish seasoning. Did not try the barbecue. Plates range $18 on up. Casual beach dress, shorts and sandals acceptable.
We love this place!! We come here atleast 6 to 8 times a month from San Antonio. Ladies are friendly and we get great service...thanks MacDaddy's. Food is amazing as well. Mac and cheese to die for!!
This is a fun family friendly place to go when you are visiting Port A. The place smelled wonderful so I didn't read the menu very carefully. BBQ, burgers, fried chicken: how could you go wrong? I ordered the pulled pork nachos. They were not at all what I was expecting but like I said I didn't read the menu closely. What I got were homemade potato chips, cheese, pulled pork and two sauces drizzled on top. One was their sweet BBQ sauce and the other was something creamy and delicious-maybe sour cream. Everything was delicious and I would order that again. Other people at my table got the pulled pork sandwich, a burger with all sorts of toppings, and chicken. We all came away satisfied. Staff was friendly and efficient. We bought a couple of cool Port A / Texas stickers on the way out. I would highly recommend MacDaddy's.
Came from Austin and stopped here for lunch. Amazing food! I don’t usually write reviews but I was so surprised with the cocktail sauce for the shrimp I def had to say something. Only reason I put 4 stars is because there was no fans out in the patio, besides that the food was freaking great!
The food was ok. However, the service, although friendly, was slower than molasses in deep winter. After being bypassed by the waitress twice and waiting 15 minutes for someone to take our drink order, we had to ask the hostess to ask our server to come over. She took our order and left without out asking if we were ready to order which we were. The food came out faster, but no one checked to see if we needed anything like the servers at the other tables. After we ordered dessert, it took another 10 to 15 minutes to get peach cobbler and pecan pie. Both were nothing to write home about. We ended up just having the self serve that came with it, which was much better. Sadly, we won't be back. Shocking that being associated with Fin's, it wasn't even half as good.
Came here for lunch and got to go order, I got the brisket combo, which came with another order of meat. I got pulled pork. I open up the box and the brisket which is supposed to be a 1/2 pound of meat was 2 THICK pieces of fat literally no actual meat...the pulled pork was mediocre kinda dry the bbq sauce made it a little better. The fries and jalapeño cream corn was the best part. I ended up spending $29.90 for just me without a drink. Which I was okay with to support the local business. But not after that quality of food.
Good fish and shrimp platter, fried chicken, sausage and brisket plate. Covid PPE enforced. Felt safe as everyone entering into restaurant used hand sanitizer and face coverings.
One of our favorite places on the island. Everything here is good and there is a little bit of something for everyone. Pulled pork is flavorful with great smoke flavor. The grilled fish is always a good choice as well. My favorite thing is the fried chicken... It is so crispy and yet still tender and juicy. Get the jalapeno creamed corn to go with and you'll be happy. Staff is very friendly. Great selection of beers on tap.
We enjoyed our platters with ribs, chicken, and pulled pork. The meat was tender and well flavored. Everything was excellent including the service.
Very clearly. Great staff. Food was delicious. We had the brisket 5 whole slices, potato salad green beans.Delicious
Food is delicious! Dogs are allowed outside and they even cooked a plain unseasoned patty for my good boy. Highly recommended. Try the pulled pork nachos and the brisket!
Great fish choices and they've figured out how to keep people safe and still keep the doors open.
Had the BBQ Nachos with the Lovestreet craft beer. It was fantastic. I love that Port Aransas now has good home cooking as an option for meals. This is the 2nd time I've been here and I highly recommend. Great environment and prices aren't that bad.
Best bbq in Port Aransas. You must get the ribs. Phenomenal
Great selection of beers on draft. Service is on the slow side. Burgers and fries good (but not great). Sometimes kids get free ice cream...my kids loved that part.
We found this place out of desperation and a Google search. So glad we did. They had BBQ for my son, Brisket Nachos for the wife and I got Blackened Fish and Shrimp. All three meals were great, and I tasted all three. ;) My meal was the best to me. The chips in the nachos were awesome! The Mac and cheese with the sausage BBQ was creamy and delish. We are only here for a week, but we will be back!
Food was fantastic. Service was excellent. Staff was accommodating and welcoming. For a second visit we were very happy
I didn't get to take pictures of the food. It was my husband and I second time eating there. We brought my daughter and my son in law to try and they loved it! I did not get out waitress name ...she was very nice to us!
Good food but they added 18% gratuity to our ticket for a table of 6 that paid separately. She only had to bring drinks once and food. Not a needy table. Then didnt give us all of our change when we paid.
Wish I could give 0 stars.. MacDaddy's was recommended while getting off Scarlett Dolphin Adventure for 10% off so we decided to give it a try. Worst BBQ we have ever had. Nowhere near quality Texas BBQ. Never again!!
Great service from our waiter Antonio. Food was amazing, the jalapeño corn was the perfect side to the fried chicken , and fish & shrimp platters.
I absolutely loved my brisket burger, I will most definitely be returning to this establishment when I visit Port A again. I absolutely loved that they ask you to sanitize your hands before entering the restaurant. Thanks for the great food.
Blacken red fish was very good. Wife had the pulled pork and said it was great.
Good home-style BBQ and Burgers... Quick bite after a long beach day. Friendly service. Spicy BBQ sauce is good with bbq brisket and chicken ... Side of jalapeno creamed corn!
We were expecting the same ole burger and chili cheese fries but were proven otherwise! Our cheese fries were cooked to perfection and had good portions of meat and cheese. Our burgers weren't the run of the mill either, I liked the egg added on to mine.
Ordered the smoked chicken with pulled pork, mac n cheese, and jalapeno cream. Not only did they forget both of my sides, the chicken was raw. With such great reviews I thought I'd give this place a try, but without a doubt I will not be returning.
CAME HERE ON A WHIM TO SEE. WHAT THIS WHAT THIS WAS ALL ABOUT RAW SAMOILLA. THE WAS BROKEN SO. WON'T BE BACK
Stop by on Sandfest 2019 and order the Family Platter Smoked Turkey, Smoked Chicken, Flounder and Sausage. Highly recommend if you with a large group. Also we sat outside to Enjoy the.sunset and Got super full. Great Friendly Waiter and waitress it was a packed house and we was in and out. Oh!!! Dessert try the Peach Cobbler (Highly Recommended Thank me Later)
Fantastic food! My family got seafood- large butterfly shrimp and large fish. I got grilled chicken. All the food tasted great and sides were yummy too!
The parmesan crusted fish w creole butter sauce was fantastic
Ate here twice on our last Port A trip due to popular demand from our traveling group. Excellent food! Service was very good, everyone was friendly! Do yourself a favor and try the Dagwood!
Didn't even get to sit down before the bad service started. Went in asked how long the wait was was told would only be a couple of minutes a table was open then asked to step outside. Waited almost 30 minutes, hostess stepped out several times still seeing us sitting there. I notice parties arriving and being seated ahead of us go in to ask how much longer and hostess suddenly becomes completely clueless. She tells me I never gave her my name , and that she has already sat two large parties ahead of us. I told her that she never even gave us a chance to leave a name we were immediately asked to step back outside. WILL NEVER EVER GO IN THERE AGAIN
The food is very good, I wish it was served a little warmer. Great variety of beer, I wish it was served a little colder.
This place has really good BBQ. We all really enjoyed the Food. We had the Brisket Combo plates and Pulled Pork Combos. The Brisket had good flavor a little dry..but add the Spicy BBQ Sauce and it wakes up your month. Not too spicy but just right. The rib was tender and filling. The sides were awesome...loved the Jalapeno Cream Corn and Potato Salad. The service was really good from setting a large group Table to Benjamin's great and friendly service. The atmosphere was Casual / Casual..really relaxed t-shirt type place. Only negative was the Fixed gratuity on the table but understood. (We usually leave 20% rather than 15% applied...but hey we understand) The last word would be..when you are on Vacation and have been eating Fish and Shrimp all week..need a change for a night..Macdaddy's is the place to Go!
The food was excellent but it was hard to enjoy it because we were sitting outside in the heat after being told the inside was "full". After going inside, I learned that there was only one group seated inside and every other table was clean and empty. They then seated 5 more groups of 4+ people inside while we were still outside not being able to enjoy our food.
Had the fish of the day and was not disappointed. Great appetizers and plates. Mac and chz was a little plain but still a great eat! 😁
Went with my kiddos today and even though it's a limited menu. Staff was very friendly and food tasted great. Highly recommend and support local businesses 🤗
Service was ok needs a step up, chicken was not hot so it tells me it was not fresh as described. Fish was flavorful, macaroni an excellent hot side, corn bread cold and dry but I can tell when fresh it will be delicious. Cole slaw very good. Will return to try the desserts.
Great BBQ! Loved their sauce and brussel sprouts.
Nice place. Dinning room is open. Very good food.
The BEST food in Port A!!! If you like food with flavor, you won't be disappointed. It delicious!!!
Friendly staff. Clean and fun environment. And love that our furball was allowed to come with us on the outdoor deck. Antonio even had a waterbowl for her. Our kiddos loved their food. Definitely coming here again.
First time on the island of Port Aransas and visited this place during the time of Covid-19. They take safety very seriously and require people to distance from each table and clean hands before entering. The queso and chili fries were amazing! It was a pork chili and yummy they were!Wife had the fried shrimp with Jalapeño cream corn and Mac and Cheese. I had fried chicken and same sides. We didn’t try the BBQ which is what majority of people were ordering. The shrimp was really good. Chicken was average. Highly recommend this place. Kids get free ice cream cones at the end of dinner.
AMAZING! We came here last year for the 1st time and then we came back here just a couple days ago. We just love it. I think the prices and portions are great. oh and the green beans are to die for. The mac n cheese is so delicious!!!! I am not a fan of any mac n cheese and I loved it, my daughter ordered it off the kids menu and yum yum yum! We had the same server this year that we did last year and we love her she is great! I wish I remembered her name! Also I bought a funny shirt from there this time too! Will go back again and again when we come down to Texas!
Food was great, and the service was respectable and quick, enjoyed getting a T-shirt. The chili cheese curley fries was perfect!
The food was okay and the waitress/waiters all seemed to be friendly. However, my Mac n cheese was cold(As was part of my pulled pork), the coleslaw was not my favorite to be honest, but the meat I got with my plate was pretty good. I just don’t think it was worth $15-$20 a plate....
Service was a little slow for 230pm no crowd. Servers were very nice and good just slow. Fried shrimp platter came with 8 big shrimp and french fries and whatever side, I got macaroni and cheese it was very good. Daughter had have pound brisket plate with potato salad, potato salad taste like a loaded baked potato very good. She also had green beans that were very delicious. The green beans are long green beans that are grilled in a garlic type sauce. Brisket was a little lean for my taste but good. Tartar sauce and other sauces are little spicy so taste it first.
